UN/CEFACT CII (Cross Industry Invoice) is an XML invoice schema from the United Nations Centre for Trade Facilitation and Electronic Business. Along with UBL 2.1, it is one of the two official XML formats that implement the EN 16931 European e-invoicing standard.
CII is the format embedded inside ZUGFeRD and Factur-X PDF files, and it's the syntax used by XRechnung in Germany. The schema covers trade parties, line items, tax breakdowns, and payment settlement data.
